ONE week to C-day!

I've had lots of folks lately asking me if I'm ready or commenting that Baby C just doesn't want to come out. But, I'm just 38 weeks today. So, not really overdue or behind schedule. This is the point I was at when Caleb decided to arrive. If Baby C were to come sooner, we're ready. Bags are packed, I'm pre-registered at the hospital and we have plans for a sneak attack.

But, at the same time, I at least know that I have at most 7 days more days. A sneak attack would make for things to be a bit more hectic and uncertain. With having Caleb involved, I know we'd all figure out Plan B but it might be nice for it to play out as we're all prepped for.

It's getting increasingly tough to be motivated to get up and come to work and give 100%. I'm just trying to whittle down the to do list as much as possible. I have backups already in place to step in and take care of my tasks while I'm out. So, it is great to delegate at least some things.

At the latest, this time next week, our Baby C will be here with us and we'll finally know what he looks like and be on the start of adjusting to our newly expanded family. Please keep an eye out here for an announcement as it's much easier to post it in one spot rather than possibly forgetting someone's e-mail address. There will likely be a delay though until I can get home to post because Carey is not really in the loop with the password here. Plus, he'll be super busy keeping things going at home. We'll share pictures and all the details as soon as possible!

Will try and update again as we get close but will have to see.

Take care!

37 weeks, 14 DAYS to C-day

Had another doctor checkup this morning. This was the last one I'll have in town. Just a pre-op appt/checkup next Monday and then the next planned doctor visit will be the C-section. I mentioned to the doctor that I was having pressure/pain really low and I didn't know if something was happening like I was dilating or if the baby was just hitting something. The doctor confirmed that nothing has changed and the baby is still head down. I think that since Caleb was breech, perhaps Baby C is hitting things that Caleb didn't. At least I got it checked since last evening it went on a bit longer and concerned me a bit. May even just be a signal for me to stop and take it easy a bit more.

Starting to finish up on the preparations. Many of the clothes are washed and we have found an antique dresser for the nursery. I have a bit more to do on my hospital bag and would like have it ready and in my car soon for any surprise attack.

Caleb has been showing a variety of behaviors in the last week or so. He was very compassionate the other evening by taking care of me, covering me up with his very own Cars blankie. His blankie is a prized possession which cannot even be parted with for washings. He's started to include baby brother when he's doing things like picking out a crayon for everyone in the family. Then last night he sat himself in the baby carseat which was on the floor and waved his feet while saying "Mama Dada".

We've talked a lot about how things will go on the 26th if baby brother comes as planned. He knows that his aunt will be there with him that morning and that she will drive him to Mommy and Daddy at the hospital to meet his baby brother. If we wind up going with a Plan B, we'll just have to deal with that when it comes.

But, looks like so far things are ready but not really starting yet. Will try and keep it that way so little Baby C can "bake" as long as he's supposed to.

Hope everyone is doing well. I will try to upload new pictures soon, I have one of Caleb in the baby car seat even.

Talk to you soon,

Re-opened poll

Oops! Didn't realize I had such a short timeframe on the last poll. I've stretched the date on it so it will stay open until C-day.

36 weeks, 3 weeks to C-day

It's getting so close now I can't mess up the countdown anymore. The next few weeks are laid out right in front of me. Had one of the last few checkups at the doctor's today. Everything is looking to be on schedule and as it should be. The doctor said that he could feel that the baby is head down and said that he wouldn't turn now in the next few weeks. After my experience with Caleb, I am taking that with a grain of salt. He was supposed to be head down too until I was in labor and they realized otherwise.

Last week I had a surprise Baby Shower at work that was wonderful. People were so generous and we got a number of the items that had been on our registry like a high chair. Some people even gave gifts to big brother, Caleb which he really enjoyed.

Bringing the new items home set off some nesting and we worked on some more things for the nursery and I started washing clothes and items. Looking at the little tiny onesies is of course amazing to think that Caleb was once that tiny and fit into them. He and I were talking just the other day about all of the things that he has learned how to do and how baby brother will need to learn all about them too.

I did ask the doctor about an estimate of the baby's size and he did say that if Baby C stays put for his delivery date, we definitely could be looking at another 7 pound baby at least. So we'll see.

Take care and talk to everyone soon.
