NOW 35 weeks, 5 weeks to C-day

Sigh, I keep counting ahead too much and goofing up. I even counted the weeks wrong in my Pregnancy Journal. Just looked at the calendar and realized that now today we have 5 weeks until we get to 3/26 which is Plan A C-day. I really thought I had four weeks to go!

Not that I am in a hurry but Baby C really is starting to get active. He likes to poke or kick me in the ribs on the right side lately. I'm starting to think that it's a hand because he might even be moving his fingers a bit. It's a very weird sensation whatever it is. And the quick jabs to my ribs makes me jump with surprise. Five more weeks feels like a LOOOONNNNGGGG time from now.

Well, hope everyone has a nice day!

Plan A for C-day is set

Well, I had my checkup yesterday afternoon and we have now scheduled the C-section. Plan A will be:

Date: 3/26/08
Surgery Time: 7:45 am

We'll see if Baby C feels like sticking with Plan A or if he will surprise us and pick an earlier day.

Carey and I will need to be at the hospital about two hours earlier so Caleb's Aunt Elizabeth is going to come by the house and watch him for a few hours for us so that he doesn't have to get up and out of the house so early in the morning! By the time he's having his usual waffle breakfast, his baby brother might be born.

It feels good to have at least this plan set now and I know all too well that it could go right out the window at any minute!

Last weekend we got some more items for the nursery including another curtain to block out the bright sunlight and allow for good napping (we hope!). And a little bouncy seat so that Baby C can hang out and watch when we're playing with Caleb in his room or around the house. Still on the lookout for a dresser and got a few more little things on our list.

I will probably start to prep a hospital bag for me and a bag of activities and goodies for Caleb too. If we have to go to Plan B, at least we can try to be ready. I'm sure this next month is going to race by! Or I guess I kind of hope it does as I feel just about out of room now and can't imagine where I'll be able to put more baby.

We'll see what the next few weeks bring. Hope everyone is doing well.

Take care.

Hoping to officially schedule C-section

My last checkup for 2/20 got cancelled because the doctor was sick. I've re-scheduled to Monday 2/25. I'll almost be at 35 weeks and be about a month away from the 3/26 date that I am anticipating. So, I am going to really push for them to make it official and get me scheduled.

Once it's scheduled it is of course just "Plan A" and totally subject to Baby C deciding he'd rather have us follow Plan B. But it will be nice to make plans that at the latest we'll have a baby around 3/26.

The last few days he seems anxious to get out and has been extremely active just about the entire day. There was a time that he was pretty calm and quiet in the morning hours. Now he's been starting at breakfast time through until bedtime. So, we'll see if he stays put for the big C-day.

Take care and talk to everyone soon.

33 weeks, 5 weeks + to C-day

Boy is it easy to get busy, busy, busy. I've been postponing posting because I wanted to put an updated picture up here. The one from early January I think I didn't really stand sideways enough and so it makes me look so tiny. By now, it's been a few weeks since we last took a picture though. We are due again for a new one because I feel like there's been another growth spurt.

I'm starting to wonder how I've managed to fit more growth in again. And even more so, wondering how these next 5 weeks are going to go! I feel so stretched out and full now.

Baby C continues to work up new moves. Lately a fist or foot gets pushed out really high up near my ribs. For a baby who has been sitting so low through my pregnancy, now he's getting me up high too. Thankfully though, still at this point, once we get into a comfy spot at bedtime, for the most past I am able to sleep through the night.

Caleb is doing really excellent and we've been reading a book that a friend gave us about being a big brother. He's been asking for it and he will answer questions like if I ask him what he thinks the baby needs. So I think we are in as good a place as we can be for now. The actual arrival of his baby brother is sure to bring out a lot of different emotions and behaviors to be worked through.

We've painted the nursery and set up the crib with the mattress back up in its highest position. Caleb of course helped with Daddy's tools. Still some little things to do and to get but at least the most crucial things we still have from Caleb.

Hope everyone is doing well. I will try to get some updated pictures posted in the next day or so. Take care!
